C2C in a Day! 1 Week to go!

Well it's only a week to go before we will be loading up and setting off in the coach for St Bee's in Cumbria.

It all started when a group of us last year decided to take on the challenge of the 'Coast to Coast in Day 2015' which is a 150 mile cycle ride from the Seascale, Cumbria through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Northern Valleys of the North Yorkshire Moors finishing by the sea in Whitby in just one day!! Yes. just one day and if that is not enough of a challenge the route also takes in over 15,000ft of climbing!!

briggLIVESWe also decided to raise a bit of cash for Brigg L.I.V.E.S in the process, The Brigg Group of the Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES) trains and provides first responders, who often get to people needing urgent help before ambulance crews arrive.  This is an invaluable service for the Brigg Community. Training for the hills in the Yorkshire Dales!

Everyone has really upped their game in the recent weeks and put in some excellent training rides from just going big on the mileage to organising trips to hillier parts to practice climbing.  The group would also like to take the opportunity to thank their families and friends for the support during the long hours of training.

Taking part in this challenge is;

  • Daz Beel
  • Paul Carvill
  • John Collingwood
  • Ian Creek
  • Royce Goulby
  • Jamie Griffin
  • Ali Hindle
  • Steve Johnson
  • Lee Kinder
